About
. OUR PROJECT

YANTRA project aims to show people there is an entrepreneur generation. The idea is receiving young artists from any part of the world who want to start their own business on the fashion field, using fair trade and handcraft techniques like serigraphy, making each piece unique.

We also want to receive all kinds of art and make this store a diversified showcase of renowned artists or not.

This project is actually an anti-brand concept, intending to question people by promoting international brands when they wear clothes from those brands, instead of supporting a fair and sustainable trade.
YANTRA is a project made from artists to artists, so we want to demystify stereotypes, breaking barriers and show that all of us are part of the same whole. Putting together visual artists and fashion designers, our goal is to elevate our project and make clothes with the concept of “Wearable Art”.

The name Yantra was chosen because it is an ancient symbol from Vedic Culture meaning prosperity and wealth - that is the message we want to convey world wide.

One of our main slogans “Minority is for everyone” started because we believe the world is made of minorities.

Similarly, we get together entrepreneurs from different parts of the world in order to promote multiculturality and the possibility of creating synergies with other artists, being able to take the project forward and promote Portugal.

All the income will be used in new materials that will be available to all artists - screens, serigraphy paint, fabric, sewing machines, etc. - and also to create better working conditions to support more artists and create more entrepreneurs.

A percentage of that income is donated to the non-profit organization EKA [ unity ] , promoting all kinds of arts.

Key words: entrepreneurship, fair trade, social action, cultural exchange, multiculturality, minorities, creative experimentation, wearable art.

. OUR VISION
“Minority is for everyone”

With this statement we intend to convey different messages:
- Everyone identifies with a certain social group according to our individual tastes, closing ourselves to knowledge and social experiences, forgetting all those groups create the world we live in;
- Art and knowledge should be accessible to everyone, and that's the reason why we have created a multicultural project;
- We want to give the same visibility to all artists, regardless of wether they are famous or not, because all of us belong to minority groups being thus in an equal situation.
- We want our art to have a strong role on social inclusion, breaking taboos and stigmas.
